Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. Our experienced dental hygienists provide gentle, professional care tailored to your individual needs, helping you maintain good oral health and feel confident about your smile.
Not a patient at Castle Dental? No problem. With Direct Access, you can book an appointment with one of our dental hygienists without being registered at the practice or seeing a dentist first.
Our hygiene services include:
- Routine scale and polish appointments
- Airflow stain removal
- Gum disease and periodontal care
- Personalised oral-hygiene advice
If your hygienist identifies anything that would benefit from assessment by a dentist, they will explain their findings and advise you on the appropriate next steps.
Appointments are available Monday to Friday, with selected Saturday appointments also offered.

Miss Marion Houlston
Marion started her dental career in 2008 working as a Dental Nurse, she then attended the University of Bristoland graduated as a hygienist in 2015.
She has worked in various areas in the South of the UK including devon, Berkshireand Surrey.

Marion joined our team in summer 2019.
Miss Sophie Awbery - Maskell
Sophie qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2020 and has worked at Castle Dental since then. Her working days at Castle Dental are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Sophie is passionate about dentistry and educating patients about their oral health, preventing the onset and progression of gum disease.
Outside of dentistry she enjoys reading, fitness and spending time with her friends and family as well as her dog!

Beatriz Assis Lourenco
Beatriz is an overseas dentist working as a hygienist in the UK for over a year.She qualified in 2013 at Santa Cecilia University, Santos - Brazil and has been granted registration with the GDC as Dental Care Professional in 2021.
Beatriz is committed to providing patients high quality treatment and advice on oral hygiene in a relaxed and caring environment. In her spare time she loves reading and playing tennis.

Mr Mohamed Ibrahim
Mohamed is an overseas-qualified dentist with experience in top-tier dental practices across Egypt and Dubai. He is now GDC-registered as a Dental Hygienist in the UK. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017 in Egypt, followed by two diplomas in aesthetic dentistry and multiple restorative and clinical upskilling courses.
He further enhanced his skills at one of Dubai’s leading hospitals, working under the mentorship of a globally recognised oral surgeon listed among the Top 100 Dentists Worldwide.
Mohamed brings this strong clinical background into his hygiene work, providing evidence-based care using magnification to deliver advanced periodontal treatment, Airflow and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT).
He offers minimally invasive, highly effective treatment for gum disease while tailoring each appointment to the patient’s individual needs.
Outside of dentistry, Mohamed is a certified Master Personal Trainer (ISSA) with multiple fitness specialisations and also enjoys part-time commercial modelling
